Goal of Shiatsu

Unlike a typical massage, Shiatsu isn’t about kneading muscles until they give up their tension. Instead, it’s about **listening with the hands**. Practitioners use fingers, palms, and sometimes elbows to apply rhythmic pressure along the body’s energy pathways—called *meridians*. The goal? To restore the flow of *qi* (life energy) and awaken the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
