Treat Meridians

The focus of Shiatsu massage is to treat an entire meridian which is just like a highway of the qi-energy on the surface of the body.  This is based on the theory that the imbalances to be addressed are based in the meridians, which require a free flow of qi-energy throughout. Thus Shiatsu can become an important aspect of preventive health care as well as treatment for existing symptoms.

Acupuncture for Qi

In TCM, the body has a system of meridians through which Qi and Blood flow, and acupuncture aids in making sure the meridians stay clear and the body’s internal harmony stays balanced. Most people can accept the analogy of the meridian being like a blood vessel in which blood flows. If blood doesn’t flow smoothly through the arteries, veins, and capillaries, a blockage can cause serious complications like heart attacks and strokes. The concept of Qi is usually the hangup here.

Clinically proven AAT

AAT is a clinically proven, precision-based therapy that offers a unique and successful approach to treating the many symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities. The therapy has been developed from years of clinical research and has been proven to be effective in providing relief from a wide range of symptoms. If you are interested in exploring AAT as a treatment option, it is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional who is trained in the therapy.

That’s Shiatsu!

Perpendicular penetration without side-to-side motion, unlike many massage techniques where movement across the surface is emphasized, Shiatsu uses penetration at each point, perpendicular to the body surface, to active the spot (“tsubo”) on the meridians.

Goal of Acupuncture

The goal of acupuncture is to wake up and support the body’s innate healing capabilities, to work with the natural processes that are imbued in the body without considering whether they’re there because of evolution, creationism, intelligent design, or any other reason.

AAT is Safe & Effective

AAT is a safe and effective treatment option for people of all ages, including children. The therapy is non-invasive and drug-free, making it an ideal treatment option for people who are sensitive or allergic to medications or prefer to avoid drugs. AAT treatments are totally painless and can be completed in a short amount of time. One allergen family is treated per session so depending on the number of allergen families involved in the symptoms, patients may require several treatments. However, many people see significant improvement after just a few sessions.

Tsubo is acu-pressure points

It is known that the body has acu-pressure points called “tsubo” that can receive the pressing by the practitioner, the muscle gives way to the penetrating force to let it enter, rather than being pushed away by pressure. The result is an entirely different experience than mere finger-pressing. The practitioner is required to have the correct body position in relation to the recipient and be mindful of the technique being used.

Acupuncture treatment

Once you understand that Qi is a part of the body’s physiology, you can appreciate that an acupuncture treatment is a medical procedure that aims to correct an imbalance. If a patient comes in with foot pain, the acupuncturist will use needles to clear out the blocked meridians like a doctor will use a stent to clear a blocked blood vessel. If a patient comes in for anxiety, infertility, or any other issues that aren’t directly related to the musculoskeletal system, the acupuncturist is still going to follow the same logic, choosing acupuncture points that direct blood flow to certain areas of the body and bring the body back into balance.

AAT & Allergies

AAT can help with a wide range of symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities. These can include respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, or congestion, or digestive symptoms like bloating, reflux, IBS, or nausea, or even skin symptoms like rashes, eczema, or hives, along with many other symptoms.

Shiatsu & Qi-energy

Consistent with the basic concepts of Traditional Oriental Medicine, Shiatsu is grounded in the theory that health problems are attributed to imbalances in Yin (Negative) and Yang (Positive), disharmonies between the internal organs, and blockage to the circulation of Qi-energy (life force energy) through the meridians.
